Happy holidays!

Finally I had the time to do a couple of holidays pictures with my dollies. This year is the first Christmas in the new house and we are going to Portugal for Christmas to spend it with the family, so I decided not to buy a big tree but just a tiny one and some other simple decorations just to give the house a touch of Christmas (I love Christmas, it is my favorite holiday!!!). Turns out it is the perfect size for my dolls so I thought it would be cute to create a scene out of it with the whole family, even those out of the story joined. Everyone helped out decorating the tree and afterwards we took a family pic with everyone together 🙂

The little girls decided to help with the decorations: Iris took care of the bows, Evie and Izzy were in charge of the rest of the decorations and Serena helped them out to reach the highest places. Also Charlotte together with Bee and Emi helped with the ornaments. Little Vanilla helped arrange Santa on the top of the tree and put his light in place.
George decided to play Santa himself and bring the presents to place under the tree and Eliza baked some cookies to welcome the real Santa while the others worked. Pandora was really excited about the cookies, and she wanted to eat them herself since she loves sweets (it is her first Christmas with the humans so she didn’t understand what they were for). Arya was quite confused about the whole thing too (since in her world there is not such thing as Christmas or Christmas trees) she spent the whole time wondering what the whole thing was about. Finally Alice, being a photography enthusiast, took care of the pictures to create some memories 🙂

When the tree was ready Alice set the timer and the whole family took a picture together with it. Pandora was lucky to get a cookie, because Eliza felt sorry for her and Santa eats too many cookies anyway!

I am not sure how much time I will have for other pictures and posts before Christmas, maybe I will post something else but I’m not sure, so me and my dolly family would like to wish you all Happy Holidays: a merry Christmas full of love and presents and a wonderful new year full of wonderful surprises and dolly goodness!!!

New doll plans! Part 2/2

THE NEW DOLLS:

I have been lurking over the Luts Delf Arwen for a while now and after looking at her first owner pics I felt I had to get one! So she will be my Christmas present hehe! I totally put her on Layaway today: she will be in light tan and will come with a face  up! Luts has amazing default face-ups lately ❤

I am just a bit nervous because I find that SD is not really the perfect size for me, however I wanted to give her a chance, not only because she has this amazing beautiful tan (<3) but also because maybe I feel more frustrated with SD because I have such a hard time finding stuff for my Serena (Iplehouse Bianca). If I like having her I am planning maybe getting also an SD boy (YES a boy) because in her story she is in a couple. Let’s see! Still a long wait to go!

Another doll I am adding to the wishlist is another boy! (Another boy??? OMG what is happening to me :P)

I am considering buying a JID Male, probably an Owen (maybe a Boris) because I have been wanting a partner for my Narae, since in her story there is a very important male character and later they become a couple. I would love a great realist (to fit her style) real skin Iple guy for her!!! Lets see how this plan goes…

Small doll news:

Finally I found Izzy’s default eyes!!! YEY!
Now just the wig is left…anyway, I am kind of linking her look more even with this wig!

Leaving for summer!

I am really happy that I am finally leaving and going back to Lisbon this Sunday!!! I haven’t been in Portugal since Christmas and I don’t see my family for 8 months!!! It’s the longest I have been away from them in my entire life and I hope it won’t happen ever again…this year was a busy year, being the last one of my Master and I needed to organise a lot of stuff and I ended up not having a lot of vacation.

I have been very active in the BJD community this last weeks because I have been in more free but in September work starts again. However, I hope I manage to keep up with dolls and I want to try and post at least once a week. Let’s see how this plan goes 😉

To say goodbye to everyone I decided to take yet another family picture, this time with the WHOLE family (even the size misfits) because at least for now it is complete 😀

I love all of them and I am happy with my new arrival Penelope ❤ I am quite happy with the group right now too, I might add a new MSD soon but let's see how things go, at the moment these are my babies (from left to right):

Two loves: the boyfriend and the dolls <3

It is quite usual to read comments in the BJD community about the reaction of partners, boyfriends, husbands and so on to dolls. Mostly about someone’s doubts if they will accept the fact that you like dolls, about how the other people are afraid of them or, if you are lucky, maybe even saying that you managed to bring your other half into the dark side and convinced them buy their first doll.

Because of all the discussion about this topic I thought it was interesting the share the following post.

I live together with my boyfriend for 6 months now, but he knew that I liked dolls already when we moved in together. He was always very accepting of them, even if he never showed any particular interest, we were always able to talk about them and he would look the new pictures I took. Before I used to play with my dolls when he wasn’t around, on my alone time, however since we live in the same house I must play with dolls when he’s around, obviously! I ended up feeling kind of uncomfortable because he would try to keep a distance when I played as it was “my thing” and not “his thing”.  So I decided to change that and proposed that we could play together once, just so that dolls would not be this weird thing anymore and he could become more comfortable with them. Even if he wasn’t that excited about the idea he accepted the challenge.

Basically I showed him and presented all my dolls with their names, and then told him to choose his favorite dolls so we could make a photoshoot. Since he is interested in photography he was quite happy about the idea of photographing them. He chose Bee (my LTF Ante) and Iris (my PKF Bonnie), because according to him they are the cutest and here is the result of our “photostory” moment:

I have to say it was actually fun, and even if I don’t see him playing often, at least now it’s not “weird” anymore as he got a feel of what it means to “play” with them 😀

Bee and Izzy were kind of hard to make, because they are currently going through a make-over, and they do not have a default look yet but I made them as they are right now. My Xagadoll Lara is the one that maybe is less developed because I am still in the process of getting to know her, but this is what I imagine of her now… I still have to decide her name too, I am waiting to see her in person with her new face-up to decide if the names I thought of fit 🙂

This is actually an Adult game that lets you create characters and then interact in some creepy ways…ahem, but if you  ignore some of the features you manage to create really cute characters. Here is the link if you are interested (ATTENTION: there is some ADULT content).
