I haven’t had much time lately (as I suspected) and I have been catching up with Flickr and Youtube and the whole dolly community (its going to take a while…)
But, I wanted to share something with everyone: the dolls that came with me on my new adventure in Germany 🙂
As you might know, I couldn’t bring all of my dolls with me, at least for now…(I miss them soooo much though). It was hard to leave the others behind and it was not an easy decision, but I had to choose…
Here they are: Arya, my Narae Dreamer, because she has been inspiring me so much lately, with her story and as a doll; Serena, my Unoa Lusis Hybrid, because I wanted to bring a casual MSD with me apart from Arya (casual is so much more relaxing) and she is one of my most recent dolls, so I wanted to explore her new self and get to know her better; and finally Lusine, my Dust of Doll Meel, because she is the cutest thing ever and also so much fun (and also small). Then I brought my PureNeemos, just because they are easy to deal with and so portable, so I said: why not?
So this is the small family at the moment, and I am currently waiting for Pandora my Minifee Rin, that should get here this month (according to Wind Dolls). I also have some plans for new dolly stuff…especially for the new girl, but it will be a calm period with no big buys or news because I am kind of short on funds :S
I will keep you posted! And will try to catch up as soon as possible 😀

10 facts about Serena!

I recently re-shelled this character into her (since she was characterless, because I bought a Minifee Rin to be Pandora instead). I made some changes but kept most of her old personality, so here is more about her new self! Enjoy!

Name: Serena Alma
Age: 21
Doll: Unoa Lusis/Minifee Hybrid (used to be a Iplehouse nYID Bianca)

1. Serena is part of the wishes crew, from my photostories. Her connection with the main plot is the following: She is an artist and illustrator, she does mainly children’s books but she does also work on other types of projects. She was finished her studies in Charlotte’s university and that’s how they met and became friends.

2. She lives in a dreamland, she is always with her head in the clouds somewhere and she doesn’t care much what is going on around her. She escapes from the world drawing what is in her mind; she loves to create new worlds and creatures in her art.

3. She is reserved and discreet, usually people don’t notice her.

4. Unless she has one of her attacks, she suffers from low blood pressure that makes her faint often and also a weird condition that gives her short-term memory loss when she wakes up. She faints for various reason, nerves, heat, cold, too much noise and so on. People just think she is a weirdo. However some people warm up to her or feel sorry and try to help and that’s mainly how she manages to make friends.

5. Due to this condition she had a really protected childhood and she was home-schooled. But when she grew up she decided she wanted to go to art school and make her dreams come true so she left her parents house and went on her first “adventure”.

6. She has a close relationship with her parents, even if the live far away, she keeps contact with them as often as possible.

7. She loves nature and the countryside, anytime she gets the chance she likes to escape there.

8. Her clothes are mostly mori-style inspired.

9. She hates discussions or fights; she never gets angry at anyone so she doesn’t understand the point.

10. She loves being alone and read or draw, she really treasures her own space.

Happy holidays!

Finally I had the time to do a couple of holidays pictures with my dollies. This year is the first Christmas in the new house and we are going to Portugal for Christmas to spend it with the family, so I decided not to buy a big tree but just a tiny one and some other simple decorations just to give the house a touch of Christmas (I love Christmas, it is my favorite holiday!!!). Turns out it is the perfect size for my dolls so I thought it would be cute to create a scene out of it with the whole family, even those out of the story joined. Everyone helped out decorating the tree and afterwards we took a family pic with everyone together 🙂

The little girls decided to help with the decorations: Iris took care of the bows, Evie and Izzy were in charge of the rest of the decorations and Serena helped them out to reach the highest places. Also Charlotte together with Bee and Emi helped with the ornaments. Little Vanilla helped arrange Santa on the top of the tree and put his light in place.
George decided to play Santa himself and bring the presents to place under the tree and Eliza baked some cookies to welcome the real Santa while the others worked. Pandora was really excited about the cookies, and she wanted to eat them herself since she loves sweets (it is her first Christmas with the humans so she didn’t understand what they were for). Arya was quite confused about the whole thing too (since in her world there is not such thing as Christmas or Christmas trees) she spent the whole time wondering what the whole thing was about. Finally Alice, being a photography enthusiast, took care of the pictures to create some memories 🙂

When the tree was ready Alice set the timer and the whole family took a picture together with it. Pandora was lucky to get a cookie, because Eliza felt sorry for her and Santa eats too many cookies anyway!

I am not sure how much time I will have for other pictures and posts before Christmas, maybe I will post something else but I’m not sure, so me and my dolly family would like to wish you all Happy Holidays: a merry Christmas full of love and presents and a wonderful new year full of wonderful surprises and dolly goodness!!!

The new girl and the old gang…

I haven’t had a lot of time to think about this girl’s name and it will be a month until she gets a face-up, but I thought she deserved at least some pictures with decent lighting and clothes on. She is soooo perfect ❤ Check my Flickr for more pictures!

I was also asked about the differences between the Narae and Minifee bodies and I decided to take some simple comparison shots for those interested.

My Narae is a N416 (Dreamer) from 2013 in Korean Real Skin and large bust and the Minifee is Charlotte (my Ryeon) from 2010 in NS and A-line body with small bust (she has not yellowed, or maybe just a little but almost unnoticeable when compared to my newer Shushu from 2012).

As I said in my previous post Minifees are obviously better posers, especially because the Narae body is not double-jointed. Charlotte holds her poses much better and is more stable (which gets her a much wider range of poses), however Narae feels sturdy and heavier. I also love the sculpting on my Narae, she has a much more photogenic and mature body and a lot of attention was given to details, the hands, the feet and her belly (OMG I love her belly). You know I am a huge fan of the Minifee’s body (no better body when it comes to posing and they are really cute and well made), but I have to say Narae wins by far when it comes to aesthetics (however i guess I will have to do some sueding at some point if I want her doing some serious posing).

I also took a picture to compare her skin to Iplehouse’s Peach Gold, as her and Serena are my two “tanned” beauties. Even if Peach Gold is more like “sun-kissed” than actually tanned. I love both of these girls skin color!

Leaving for summer!

I am really happy that I am finally leaving and going back to Lisbon this Sunday!!! I haven’t been in Portugal since Christmas and I don’t see my family for 8 months!!! It’s the longest I have been away from them in my entire life and I hope it won’t happen ever again…this year was a busy year, being the last one of my Master and I needed to organise a lot of stuff and I ended up not having a lot of vacation.

I have been very active in the BJD community this last weeks because I have been in more free but in September work starts again. However, I hope I manage to keep up with dolls and I want to try and post at least once a week. Let’s see how this plan goes 😉

To say goodbye to everyone I decided to take yet another family picture, this time with the WHOLE family (even the size misfits) because at least for now it is complete 😀

I love all of them and I am happy with my new arrival Penelope ❤ I am quite happy with the group right now too, I might add a new MSD soon but let's see how things go, at the moment these are my babies (from left to right):
