Happy holidays!

Finally I had the time to do a couple of holidays pictures with my dollies. This year is the first Christmas in the new house and we are going to Portugal for Christmas to spend it with the family, so I decided not to buy a big tree but just a tiny one and some other simple decorations just to give the house a touch of Christmas (I love Christmas, it is my favorite holiday!!!). Turns out it is the perfect size for my dolls so I thought it would be cute to create a scene out of it with the whole family, even those out of the story joined. Everyone helped out decorating the tree and afterwards we took a family pic with everyone together 🙂

The little girls decided to help with the decorations: Iris took care of the bows, Evie and Izzy were in charge of the rest of the decorations and Serena helped them out to reach the highest places. Also Charlotte together with Bee and Emi helped with the ornaments. Little Vanilla helped arrange Santa on the top of the tree and put his light in place.
George decided to play Santa himself and bring the presents to place under the tree and Eliza baked some cookies to welcome the real Santa while the others worked. Pandora was really excited about the cookies, and she wanted to eat them herself since she loves sweets (it is her first Christmas with the humans so she didn’t understand what they were for). Arya was quite confused about the whole thing too (since in her world there is not such thing as Christmas or Christmas trees) she spent the whole time wondering what the whole thing was about. Finally Alice, being a photography enthusiast, took care of the pictures to create some memories 🙂

When the tree was ready Alice set the timer and the whole family took a picture together with it. Pandora was lucky to get a cookie, because Eliza felt sorry for her and Santa eats too many cookies anyway!

I am not sure how much time I will have for other pictures and posts before Christmas, maybe I will post something else but I’m not sure, so me and my dolly family would like to wish you all Happy Holidays: a merry Christmas full of love and presents and a wonderful new year full of wonderful surprises and dolly goodness!!!

YouTube adventure!

Soooo…. I have been meaning to do this for a while now but I don’t have much time so I ended up never trying. But today I took a small break and I finally did a video!

Well, I recently found out about the YouTube BJD community, I think it is so much fun to watch other people with their dolls and talking about dolls, even when it’s just rambling 🙂 I love blogging in writing, but I was curious to try to make my own video. I am quite discreet and reserved, so it was kind of hard to start but when I got along with it it was actually a lot of fun!!! 😀

I am still not sure if this is a “thing”, I mean, I don’t know if I will be doing videos on a regular basis, but I am curious to know what people think 🙂

These were actually the first people in the BJD hobby I started following on Youtube and I have been quite addicted with their videos ever since…I now added other people but I am still exploring! I should start commenting, but I felt a bit stupid commenting without having any video in my own channel….maybe now I will 🙂

Other than that there are some good news: I heard back from Wind Dolls at the beginning of the week, and I am getting my piece!!! Already ordered it and it will arrive to them maximum in January (hopefully even before) YEY! Long wait but at least the problem was solved for the best 🙂

Photo Challenge #1 and #2

I’m back in Lisbon taking a 10 day break! The project went well but it was exhausting: still a long way to go but the most stressing part should be over. Hoping to go back to having time for dollies and looking forward to Ldoll!!!

Photo Challenge #2
I made a small story for a weekly photo challenge over at the Portuguese BJD group on Facebook. I am having a lot of fun with it, and it is actually the first time I participate in such a thing, because I am always afraid I will end up forgetting or not having time. But since it is quite simple and relaxed I decided to give it a try. This week’s theme was Bed Hair- Messy hair when you wake up, and the victim was Alice. I actually love the way it turned out so I decided to post:

BED HAIR

Alice: Wha…What’s going on?
Me: Good morning Alice! Sorry for the photo, but I am doing them for a photo challenge, the theme is Bed Hair.
Alice: ARE YOU KIDDING??? Don’t even think about it! Turn away the camera because you are going to have to give me time to get presentable! My hair looks awful!
Me: But…but that’s the aim…

Alice: Here! Now it looks much better. You can take the picture: is the pose alright?
Me: But your hair is not a mess anymore!
Alice: I’m sorry, but the theme is BED hair or BAD hair? Because I have hair and I am in a bed so it should work. Also, people have to think I actually wake up like this: looking fantastic!
Me: Ok, ok….

Photo Challenge #1
Since I posted the second one I thought: why not post also the first one? The theme for this one was “Once upon a time…”. It’s not very elaborate because I didn’t have much time to dedicate to it. It’s inspired by Rapunzel (yeah I know the hair should be longer – Charlotte borrowed Serena’s wig for this – , but hopefully is enough to be convincing).

Photostory: Family Ties

You must be wondering: What? New Photostory????

Yeah! I know…it is unexpected. Since this week I am still working from home I started feeling nostalgic(with a new doll coming and everything); and during a break I started looking at the old photostories I used to make. I was really happy to read them, it has been a while since I read/make them and they made me laugh and feel warm inside…but especially they made me remeber how much I enjoyed making them! Too bad they are too time consuming…
Then I remembered: I still have a couple of stories I made last year in August/September when I was home in Portugal and I have been meaning to post them but then I never did. So I went looking for them and they were practically ready for posting. I decided to post this one and probably the other one soon, for old times sake! And in the end, I never presented Alice and her character in the stories, so she deserved it. If you don’t remember where the stories ended last time or if you don’t know my doll stories you can find everthing in the Photostory section of my blog 🙂

NOTE

This story was made in September 2012 so this is before the dolls and I moved officially to Italy, it was supposed to be Alice’s staged BO (hence the box). The photos are made with my old camera and are quite crappy but I didn’t loose time editing them, sorry! And most important: THIS DOESN’T MEAN I AM GOING TO BREAK THE PHOTOSTORIES HIATUS AND START DOING STORIES AGAIN. Unfortunately at the moment I have no time for it, but I thought I should post at least these two stories and do like a “season finale”, maybe in the future I will do them again.

Leaving for summer!

I am really happy that I am finally leaving and going back to Lisbon this Sunday!!! I haven’t been in Portugal since Christmas and I don’t see my family for 8 months!!! It’s the longest I have been away from them in my entire life and I hope it won’t happen ever again…this year was a busy year, being the last one of my Master and I needed to organise a lot of stuff and I ended up not having a lot of vacation.

I have been very active in the BJD community this last weeks because I have been in more free but in September work starts again. However, I hope I manage to keep up with dolls and I want to try and post at least once a week. Let’s see how this plan goes 😉

To say goodbye to everyone I decided to take yet another family picture, this time with the WHOLE family (even the size misfits) because at least for now it is complete 😀
